Life Philosophy
A philosophy university professor was standing in front of his
class, before the lesson, with some objects. When the lesson began,
without saying any word, the university professor took a large
empty vase of mayonnaise, and filled it up with cliffs of 5-6
cm of diameter. Therefore he asked the students if the vase were
full, and they agreed.
Then the university professor took a box of little stones and
poured them in the mayonnaise vase, shaking it hardly. The little
stones, obviously, rolled in the empty spaces between cliffs.
The university professor therefore asked again if the vase were
now full, and students agreed. Students began to laugh when the
university professor took a box of sand and poured it in the vase.
The sand filled every empty space.
"Then", the university professor said , "I want you to recognize
that this is your life. The cliffs are the important things -
family, partner, health, sons - even if every other thing had
to lack, and only these to remain, your life would however be
full. The little stones are the other important things, as job,
house, byke, car. The sand represents which other thing, the small
things. If you firs fill up the vase with the sand, there will
be no more space for cliffs and stones. The same you have in your
life; if you spend all your time and energies for the small things,
you will never have space for the very important things. Establish
your priorities, the rest is only sand "
After these words......
One student stood up and took the vase containing cliffs, stones
and sand, that all students considered full, and began to fill
it with a glass of beer. Obviously the beer slipped into remaining
spaces, and now the vase was really full.
The moral of this tale is: It is not important how full is
your life, there is always space for a BEER!!!
